Dispicable Me...the movie

Dango...I can't spell. WOW, I had trouble with "dispicable"! We went to see the movie on Friday night. It was funny, (I can't spell hillarious). We enjoyed ourselved and a giant bucket of popcorn! Several of the scenes reminded me of my life. The fart machine is a real human in the Haller family! The kid that exposes the pyramid in the beginning of the movie is just like Ben and his dad and mom!

From the Farm ~ Lemon Cucumbers

I love these cucumbers that my dad grows in his garden. These are sweeter than the usual pickle cucumbers. It is that season...the garden is ripe with tomatoes, cucumbers, zuchinni, squash and corn is coming soon! So yummy!!!!!!

Aaron Tippin and stinky pigs!

We had a blast at the concert. My favorite song that Aaron sings is "Kiss This". Jim loves "Big Boy Toys" and Benjamin just sings along too. We very much enjoyed the concert and the weather and sunset were just beautiful. Couldn't ask for better weather...it didn't rain on us and it is Aug. It ALWAYS rains in August. Ben and I also enjoyed the kids fair, Ben painted a piggy bank! Ben also played on the blow up toys and I looked at the animals and fair entries. Ben and I learned that pigs are stinky!!! Such a nice end to summer!

Blue Mountain Roundup Rodeo 2010

So much fun...Jim and Ben spent most of their time at the consession stand.
Ben ate:
2 hot dogs
1 Sprite
1 ring candy sucker
1/2 bag of popcorn
a couple bites of green apple cotton candy
after he was full he went to sleep, it was late around 10:30...he missed the bull riding! We enjoyed our time together, the food, the people and the animals. Ben petted a horse but didn't dare ride him even though the cowboy offer to take him for a ride...maybe someday! The performances of all those involved in the rodeo were awesome and so was the tribute to the Utah National Guard group stationed at Blanding that have been deployed to Afghanastan. They asked the vetrans to sand up and Jim was crying so hard at that point that he didn't want to have everyone see his tears so he didn't stand up. Jim is very patriotic and emotional when he sees the flag or anything about the military. He served in the US Army and is a vetran!

Camo shorts and Christmas Socks!

The other day Ben picked out his own clothes...he put on camo shorts and a pair of socks that we got last Christmas. The socks are red and green striped and have christmas trees on the bottom...this goes with camo shorts???? So he is like Jim and doesn't really care what he wears as long as it is comfy! ALL BOY!!!!!!!

King Benjamin turns 5!

Benjamin turned 5 today. He had a fun day, it started when he went to Sherrill's daycare. She made him a crown and everyone called him King Benjamin. He really liked it! We took cupcakes to share and all the kids gathererd around him and sang the happy birthday song, he like that too! Ben got to come home early with mom to play with his new toys and he opended his presents. Benjamin asked for potpie for dinner and we had the BEST cupcakes that were made into a Thomas the Train track. He easily blew his candles out and then he and daddy worked on putting his new train together! Trains are hard to put together...just ask Jim!!!!!

All Aboard...A trip to yesterday

We went to ride the train in Durango, CO. We took our camp trailer and stayed at a nice RV park in the valley north of Durango. It was Benjamin's birthday train ride! Benjamin turns 5 on Aug. 2, 2010. We rode from Durango on the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gage Railroad train to Silverton...amazing scenery! We had lunch at the Shady Lady Saloon and Restaurant! So much fun...we shopped at the little shops in Silverton and got some little trinkets as a reminder of the trip. We rode back to Durango and saw the Lone Ranger and Tonto back at the depot and got a silver bullet! There was a cool trail and railroad museum in Durango. We even watched as they put up the engine in the roundhouse for the night. Definately a great ride and trip.
