Our train ride

Over the memorial weekend we went to Chama New Mexico to ride the train. We took our camp trailer and had a very nice time. It rained and was cooler but it was a really spectacular ride with incrediable scenery. Benjamin, Jim and my dad went to the train station early and they got to go up into the engine and see all of the buttons and levers that make it work. We attended the memorial day celebration and heard a thought provoking speech about vetrans and those who have given their lives for our country. We will for sure go again. I was sure that I took our camera because I wanted to get some pictures. I made sure that I put the camera into my bag before we left. On Saturday morning when we got ready to ride the train, I went to get my camera and it was not there. I was so SURE I had put it in my bag but it wasn't there. I looked around the truck and camper for it but couldn't find it. I was so disappointed. Later when we were stopped in Cortez, Benjamin pulled it out from behind the back seat...he had gotten the camera out of my bag and had been playing with it. We will go back and ride again but this time the camera will be in my possession at all times!

Benjamin gave his first talk in Primary today!

Benjamin gave his talk in Primary today. He did really well, he spoke and said the words and got up on the stand and it was good! We were so proud of him, he is growing up so fast. I am a little sad that he isn't my baby anymore.
The topic Benjamin was given was on Baptism and how we it can make our families better.
Benjamin's talk-
I like to look for rainbows when ever there is rain
and ponder on the beauty of an earth made clean again
I want my life to be as clean as Earth right after rain
and want to be the best I can, and live with God again.
I know when I am baptized my wrongs are washed away,
and I can be forgiven and improve myself each day.

We've got geese!

We purchased 2 geese about a month ago at Big R in Cortez. Our geese are named Hansel and Grettel. Jim thought they would make good pets as he had some when he was a child. They are protective of their family and we are hoping they will protect our chickens from the dogs, Brutus and Zoos. Benjamin loves to go to the chicken coop and feed them. They are growing up so fast, they are getting big. We have African geese, they have a bump on their bills. I can't tell Hansel and Grettel apart. Maybe they will lay eggs or maybe not. We will have to wait and see. Benjamin tries to catch and hold them when he goes to feed them but they are getting big enought that he can't hold them now. Can't wait to see how big they are going to get!!
