WEsTcOtT FaMiLY REuNioN 2010

The Westcott family reunion was held at Lagoon this year...it has been a long time since I have been to Lagoon. We had so much fun, we stayed until the place closed at 10 pm. The last two hours, the lines were pretty short and all of the little kids just kept riding the rides until they would close. I loved the sounds of the little kids, running, laughing and shouting with excitment as they enjoyed the rides and riding with their cousins. We stayed at a great motel and had a very nice Sunday family meeting after which we all went to lunch together at Sizzler! We missed Jen and her family as they were the only ones that were not able to come. I love my family so very much and am greatful that we have such exciting DRAMA! Life could be boring without such a large family...something is always happenin!!!!! There are always things to be learned and lessons of love. The Westcotts number 2 parents, 6 kids, 5 spouse in-laws, 11 grandsons, and 8 grandaughters. Our family, like all other families has ups and downs and we are always striving to love one another despite all the things that seem to go wrong! It is a challenge to have 32 people all loving each other at the same time! Thanks to my parents for their love and support of all of us.

SHaCk AtTaCK!

Jim decided that he was going to take the ultimate eating challenge. The shake shack has what is called the "Shack Attack" which consists of eating a cheeseburger with 8 beef patties and 8 cheese slices between 2 buns, a large french fry and a large shake. Eat all that in 30 minutes or less and you get your next meal for free. Holy heck...Jim downed it in 14 minutes!!!! He won't be raiding the cabinets for food such as peanut butter sandwiches tonight!! Ben could only eat one corn dog!

Fluff

Meet Fluff...he is the newest member our our family and the Scentsy family. I sell Scentsy products, I got into the business selling because I couldn't find anyone around here that sold the products. I LOVE candles and my mom bought me some Scensty bars and a warmer two years ago for my birthday. Scentsy just came out with a line of plush animals that have a pocket in the back for a small pack of beads that smell of one of their signature fragrances. So I bought the lamb for Benjamin, I even let him pick out the fragrance pack...he likes satin sheets! Ben named his lamb Fluff and now he takes Fluff everywhere we go. Now if I can just keep Fluff looking somewhat clean!!!!

Singer Sister

We went to Manti to visit my sister and her family, the Singers. We, Ben and I, had so much fun. Ben loves Isley, Allyson and Spencer's 5 year old boy...Ben's cousin. Ben and Isley have much in common and they like a lot of the same things...Thomas the train! They play pretty well together and have fun. We visited the Manti Temple at night. I took Ben and Isley with me so I could take some pictures of the temple. I told them that they had to be good, not be noisy and run, or we would have to leave. They were fascinated by the lights that spotlight the temple. They giggled and laughed and I kept telling them to be quiet. They ran up the stairs that go around the back of the temple, I could hardly keep up! They rolled down the hill in the back of the temple which I made them promise they would not do...but I couldn't control them so they did what they wanted! After rolling down the hill, I decided it was time to go home and we went on a little path that I thought lead down to the parking lot. It was dark on the path that curved through some tall pine trees...we were scared because it was a little too spooky. We all held hands and walked down the path a little bit but I couldn't see where we were going...it was so dark. We decided to go back down the stairs and around the front where there were lights. Once again Ben and Isley ran took off towards the stairs,I knew that my knees were going to be killing me the next day but I tried to keep up...they were so quick. When I got down the stairs they were smelling the flowers...see the picture and we were getting strange looks from the temple workers who were going home. I thought they were going to tell me to leave or control the kids, which I would have had to leave! Isley decided to pick a flower and have Ben smell it...as a temple worker watched! I was lucky both boys didn't just roll in the flower beds. It was time for us to go...I think the workers going home probably just couldn't see in the dark or for sure we would have been escourted to the parking lot! I was hoping that because it was at night some of their energy would be gone...NOT likely!!

tHE beAuTIFul BLuES

We love to go 4 wheeling, camping and riding on the Blue (Abajo) Mountain. It is such a beautiful place, each season brings its own colors and temperatures. The mountain is inspiring in each season. I love to go there and just relax and enjoy the scenery and peace. We are so blessed to live in this place. Sometimes I can't believe how lucky we are to be able to support our family and live in this place. Sometimes I worry about my job at the hospital, especially in light of the current health care worries and contentious atmosphere. I have worked at the hospital for twelve years and there hasn't been a year when money hasn't been a concern. I just have to count my blessing for right now and hope that things work out!

Our Tree

When Jim and I got married we went for a ride on the mountain that summer. We were driving in a beautiful aspen grove and decided to carve our initials in one of the trees. We have been back every year to look at our tree. The year Benjamin was born we added his initials to the same tree right below our initials. In the pictures Ben is standing in front of his initials...BFH 8-2-05! We recently went on our ride and picnick this year and took these pictures! JDH + SAWH 5-20-00 with a heart!!!
