Cherry Tomatoes and ice cream sandwiches

Last night Benjamin and I ate cherry tomatoes from our tomatoe plant. We only had a few to eat but they were "ummy" as Benjamin said. We are hoping for more this summer. We have quite a few green tomatoes but they haven't turned red yet. I hope that Benjamin doesn't pick the green ones thinking they will be good to eat. I have tried to stress that "you only pick and eat the red ones" but not really being able to recgonize what is red, he might just think he should pick all of the tomatoes. I bet one taste of a green one and he won't pick anymore. So sad, I hope he doesn't eat a green one and then his taste for tomatoes will be ruined. Lately he does things that I don't want him to do. This morning after I got out of the shower I went to the living room and Benjamin was there eating an ice cream sandwich on the couch. He got into the freezer, got an ice cream sandwich out and unwrapped it, took it to the couch and started eating it for breakfast. I had offered him some cereal earlier but he wanted a doughnut, which we didn't have. I guess ice cream will substitute for a doughnut in his mind! Hopefull we will have more tomatoes soon so he can have a healthy dinner to make up for his ice cream sandwich breakfast!

Wheat field

This is not a pic of our wheat field but I do have to brag that I believe we have the best wheat field in all of San Juan County Utah. We have very lovely wheat this year! I can't wait to see how many bushels per acre we harvest. We will need the money to pay our horrendous diesel and gas fuel bill. At above five dollars a gallon for the diesel fuel it is really beginning to cause me some sleepless nights. I have even quit driving the diesel truck and now we drive the "jeep jeep", as Benjamin calls it. It doesn't have air conditioning and so I arrive at work with WILD hair each morning! Something's got to change soon!

I don't know what I'm really doing with this blog thing. I just thought we'd give it a try. It will probably be just like everything else that I do, when I get too busy with work, church and homelife, I'll just give it up. I hope it will be fun enough to keep doing. A little about us- Jim is working at the San Juan County Road department as a light equipment operator. I work at the hospital as the Laboratory Manager and occasionally as a medical technologist(a "fancy, sophisticated, professional" word for lab tech). Benjamin does the 2 year old things- he spent quite a few minutes in TIME OUT this morning. He just couldn't quit spitting! He goes to day care at Sherrill Bowring's daycare. I say "thankgoodness for daycare, he has someone his age to play with and someone to learn to share with."
