Western Meadowlarks

This beautifully yellow colored bird has taken up residence at our house. This bird has two other meadowlark friends. We can't remember another year that we have seen any kind of bird like this, not even in the summer time. We spent quite a bit of time looking up what kind of bird this is on the internet. I believe this is a reminder of tweety Piety living here in our memory and a reminder that we do go on forever. After all, in my dreams, Piet said he was in charge of the birds!

More SNOW!

It is snowing AGAIN!!!! Recently we have had sooooo much snow. The school even had two snow days last week- amazing. We were snowed in on Friday and half of Saturday last week. Finally the snowplows came and plowed our road. Jim was glad to get out and I was glad he could get out because we were getting low on water. I hate that because I have to be careful how I use that water...can't do laundry, or run the dishwasher a whole lot, or take a bath and a long shower everyday, can't shampoo the carpets...like I could, I am still recovering from my surgery. I am a little worried about getting to town today, I have a doctor's appointment that I WILL NOT miss today even if there is a lot of snow.

Benjamin has taken over!

Jim got a massage chair for Christmas. Ben has figured out how to get in it and tilt it back and put on the massage. He likes his massage as much as the next Haller. He even gets his blanket and has a massage just like daddy!

Happy Birthday Isley Singer

One of Benjamin's favorite cousins, because he too LOVES Thomas the train, had a birthday on Jan. 13th. We called and Ben got to leave a message on Isley's mom's phone saying happy birthday. Isley is 5 now and will go to school this next year. Such a cute boy and sooooo much wild fun!

Shhhhhhhhh...Jim doesn't know

Jim has his ideas about what toys are too "girly" for Benjamin. Benjamin has always loved to play with the kitchen stuff along with the trains, trucks, and boy toys. I have never been able to convince Jim to let me buy a kitchen set. Probably because he knows Benjamin will only spend 5 minutes playing in it before he moves on to other toys. I found a play doh kitchen and got it for Ben for Christmas. We broke it out this morning to play...shhhhh Jim still doesn't know his boy is playing with a kitchen set!!!!

S-U-R-G-E-R-Y with lots of hugs and kisses

I had surgery on Dec. 30, 2009...didn't turn out so much as planned. I got quite a scare that I might not be around in 2010. Since I have been home from the hospital I make sure that I get hugs and kisses from Benjamin every couple of hours...I have to leave him alone when he is sleeping! This morning he said to me "Why do we have to have hugs all the time?"...it just makes me feel so much better and I tell him it is so mom will get better faster!!! SO this morning we got out our new popsicle maker and made up some popsicles! Popsicles help me tremendously right now!!!!!!!!
