Grandma Ann and the birds

Last month, March, was an extremely busy and kind of sad month for us. We had to go to court and get an emergency guardianship and consevatorship for Jim's mom, Ann. It took a lot of time and we even went to court. Jim had to give testimony about his mother's condition and dementia. Her physician wanted her to be placed in a nursing home asap. The physician thought she had been living with Piet for the last year. The plan was that Ann would come and live with Piet and Terry in the little house he was having fixed up on the same property as their home. But Piet was in the accident that took his life and Terry didn't want Ann to live there. Ann got her driver's license revoked and she failed the written driving test and that is what started all of this stuff. We took Ann to Vista Mesa Assisted living in Cortez on March 11, 2009. We have been to Cortez so many times this last month getting things in order. We have court again in April and the guardianship and consevatorship will become permanant. I am exhauseted from all the traveling and trying to clean up her place. But life goes on and we go to visit Grandma Ann in her new home with the birds, as Benjamin says.
